Description

Various shades of blue echo the feeling of a winter’s night. Pale blue tanzanite nestles against the deeper hues of lapis lazuli, sapphire, and freshwater pearls. A fancy bail holds an impressive lapis lazuli nugget and dangles. Chain and a handmade toggle clasp complete this necklace which hangs approximately 21.5 inches. All components are Sterling silver.

If you want to make a set, try pairing the necklace with the Singing the Blues earrings or the Ancient Mysteries earrings.

If you don’t like blue, you can find similar necklaces in orange (Autumn Splendor necklace) and green (Spring Splendor necklace).

The Chinese carved lapis lazuli hair and belt ornaments during the time of Confucius (551-479 BCE). The gemstone is believed to encourage clarity and objectivity as well as give the wearer strength. The Persians called sapphire the ‘Celestial Stone’ and believed that the Earth was sitting on an enormous blue sapphire which gave color to the sky itself. Sapphire is believed to promote learning and wisdom as well as mental acuity.
