Description
Cue the procession! This necklace of deep red faceted garnets and fine lustrous white freshwater pearls is connected by gold-filled wire, dotted with gold vermeil beads and fastened by an ornate gold vermeil box clasp. The necklace hangs approximately 18 inches.
This necklace is the perfect partner of the Coronation Earrings.
In Persia, the garnet was considered a talisman against injurious forces of nature, such as lightening and storm. In the Middle Ages it was believed that the garnet was its own protection against poison and plague. The garnet was worn to attract health and cheerfulness.
A Chinese historian recorded the oldest written mention of natural pearls in 2206 BCE; pearls are believed to be calming and centering and have been used as conduits for relaxation and introspection.
